DEFINITIONS FOR A CONCEPTUAL SYNTHESIS
Mythogenics is a word derived from "genic", which means to produce something: hallucinogenic = producing hallucinations or carcinogenic =
causing cancer. "genic" also refers to that which is produced by something, as in: psychogenic = being produced by the mind or biogenic = being produced by the body. It also denotes a
derivative quality, such as photogenic. Myth is referred to within the context of a powerful, encapsulated summary system of significant information derived from human experience. So
"mythogenic" refers to the dynamic which produces myth, is produced by myth or is derived from psycho-mythic processes. Phenomenetics is really the study of human experience as it interacts
with the various environments (internal and external) we encounter in our daily lives. Some of the phenomena we encounter are strictly personal, while others are trans-personal or experiences we share in common with
other people. So Mythogenic Phenomenetics is the means by which we encounter and process the various forms of human experience that we call reality. Some of the underlying concepts include:
MYSTERY- That which cannot be measured, reduced or fully expressed POTENTIAL- The possibility of existence IMPLICATE DIMENSION The source of potential EXISTENCE- The manifestation of potential INFORMATION- The consequence of existence BEING- Information regarding existence
STATE- Consequence of being BOUNDARY- Information revealing a limit or threshold of differentiation between states
of being CHANGE- Alteration of boundaries or states of being
PROCESS- That which produces change PHENOMENA- That which exists within boundaries PHYSICAL PHENOMENA- that which exists within fixed boundaries.
VIRTUAL PHENOMENA- that which exists within elusive, transitory or rapidly changing boundaries.
TRANS-PHENOMENAL- Being without boundaries REALITY- The sum of all information about being EXPERIENCE- The consequence of change
PERCEPTION- The awareness of experience CONSCIOUSNESS- The awareness of reality INTELLIGENCE: Consciousness that derives meaning from perception.
EXISTENTIAL FLOW: The unfolding of phenomena in terms of: Time (the unfolding of potential) Energy (that which produces flow)
Information (meaningful fluctuations in theflow of time and energy.)-see above FIELD OF EXPERIENCE- The totality of experience expressed in terms of
Form Function Flow PERSONAL PHENOMENA: That which exists within one's personal boundaries.
Dreams, thoughts, perceptions etc.) TRANS-PERSONAL PHENOMENA:
That which exists beyond one's personal boundaries (i.e.Physical Reality)
SYSTEM: The purposeful association of mutually interactive functional and structural elements.
PHENOMENETIC SYSTEM:
Systems which occur outside the realm of human intentionality.
ANTHROPIC SYSTEMS: Systems developed or utilized by humans to deal with reality:
MYTHOGENIC SYSTEM: An encapsulated summary of interactive mix of fears,
Knowledge, beliefs and desires, expressed as an outward Manifestation. GOD/THEOS/DEITY: The ultimate system
INTERFACE: The conjunction of mutually interacting systems. COMPLEXITY: The degree of interaction within and between systems.
ABSTRACTION: The simplification/reduction of complexity. PSYCHO-MYTHIC SYSTEM: The imaging process by which we synchronize our internal
and external experiences of reality and formulate our responses.
SYSTEMIC FLOW: The rate of interaction within a Meta-System CIVILIZATION: The conjunction of Meta-Systems CULTURE: A particular perspective of civilization
INSTITUTION: A collective participant within a Meta-System INDIVIDUAL: A unique participant within a Meta-System |
